Shawn Straub, MA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is the President and Founder of ALT HR Partners.
While providing insight and assistance with legal compliance and risk mitigation, Shawn helps companies navigate all aspects of the employee lifecycle with respect and dignity.
Shawn has been providing employee relations expertise for nearly 20 years in healthcare, retail, and non-profit organizations. In her role as the head of Human Resources at multiple corporations, she has created strategic solutions for employee development and provided tactical expertise in employment law.
She is passionate about mentoring and has worked with a variety of organizations to help create and foster their own mentoring programs, including the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. In 2016 Shawn joined employers from across the country at the annual UpSkill America symposium in Washington, DC and spoke to The National Press Club on the importance of providing skill training for America’s workforce. The following year Shawn spoke at RetailHR about Welcoming Millennials in the Workforce, as well as Successful On-Boarding across Multi-State Organizations. Additionally, Shawn has been a speaker at multiple Human Resources conferences across the US, speaking on a variety of topics.
Shawn was recognized by the Worcester Business Journal as a top 40 under 40 professional and by the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve as a Patriotic Employer for her support and inclusion of veterans in the workforce.
Shawn is a firm believer in the community and giving back. Shawn is an active volunteer and mentor with Launch Greensboro and Campus Greensboro.
Shawn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Montclair State University and a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Chico. Shawn is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the national Human Resources Certification Institute and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM –SCP) by the Society for Human Resources Management.
Andrea Brown is our HR Manager. She has spent the last decade in Human Resource working closely with companies to ensure they have the tools to successfully manage their business.
Andrea is committed to providing strategic, easy to implement solutions, as well as building solid policies and procedures to ensure risk mitigation and long term success. Andrea believes everyone has the potential to help lead a company to success with the right training and tools.
Since joining ALT HR Partners, Andrea has specialized in Charter and Alternative school Human Resources. Andrea is a certified Health Benefits Representative in North Carolina and is able to administer State Benefit plans. Andrea is also an expert in Castlebranch, E-Verify, and DES Unemployment.
Annie Zeller is one of our HR Coordinators. Annie works with clients on employee relations, HR compliance, recruitment, performance management, policy and handbook development.
Since joining ALT HR Partners, Annie has specialized in Retail and Small Business Human Resources. Annie is committed to the Greensboro Eco System and loves helping developing businesses reach their goals. Annie is an expert in Form I9, E-Verify, and DES Unemployment. She is a third-party remitter for unemployment in North Carolina and Virginia.
Summer Wall is our Business Manager. Summer enables our team to build successful long term client relationships by providing operational & business excellence.
She is passionate about strategic problem solving, process improvement and turning data analysis & insights into actions. Summer holds a BS in Textile Management with a minor in accounting from North Carolina State University.
Carla Ward is our HR Coordinator for Charter Schools and Municipalities. Carla comes to us from New Mexico where she lived for the last nine years. She has an extensive background in Human Resources and most recently worked as HR at for Target. She is excited to help schools provide amazing environments for their employees. Carla is committed to equality and ensuring everyone has an equal chance at success.
Todd Mangin is our HR Manager focusing primarily on Charter Schools in the Raleigh/ Durham area and beyond. Todd originally hails from Yonkers New York and is a United States Navy veteran, where he served for 30 years. Todd holds a bachelor’s degree in Management with a concentration in Leadership from the American Military University.
Todd is a certified SHRM Professional (SHRM-CP) by the Society of Human Resources Management and is a certified Health Benefits Representative in North Carolina. Todd is a dynamic trainer and truly enjoys sharing his vast knowledge with others. Todd is also a certified Resilience Building Leader Professional- Trainer (RBLP-T) and trained to administer several leadership assessments.
